Affordable Housing looks to be moving right along in Carson City
During a meeting of the Carson City Board of Supervisors today plans surfaced to begin building low income housing, which is long overdue – in this case at 3410 Butti Way – nearly eight acres of space that can probably accommodate many families at a monthly cost that won’t send them to the poor house. The Carson City government owns the site and will give first “dibs” on who gets to move-in depending on family income and their circumstances. Construction is expected to begin in early October and be completed by April of 2024. So obviously, the project will be built in phases.
The Supervisors probably made the fire department folks pretty happy. Supervisors gave their approval for the purchase of a brand new brush firefighting vehicle. Their current version has many, many rugged miles on it and the fire department immediately accepted the plans for the new version. Delivery date for the new vehicle was not mentioned.
