CC Board of Supervisors…

The Carson City Board of Supervisors Thursday dropped a hammer on what was a number of liquor businesses that failed to count some of their sales – 116 businesses reported their sales – 31 failed to do so.  The 31 businesses were checked out and were fined.  The Supervisors made it clear that taverns and stores must pay closer attention to what’s coming and going.

The Supervisors also made some progress in getting a number of Northgate city “business buildings” filled with non-profit organizations to better serve the Carson City community.  Discussions went round and round but no final decision was made as to what organizations will eventually move in.  Those who represent such community services will vie for space – to be determined in the near future.  There will be sealed bid offers from a number of non-profits to get the green light to move in.  All bids must be turned in to the city by 5pm, June 15th.

And the Supervisors decided they won’t let a 5-cent/gallon tax on diesel fuel slip through their fingers.  The current fuel tax will be up for renewal at the end of the year.  The 5-cent/gallon will end or be renewed by the voters on December 31st.

This Sunday there will be a Lone Mountain Cemetery clean up to commemorate the 44 Civil War Soldiers that are buried there.  Activities begin Sunday, 1:15pm.

And finally, there was mention of Carson City’s desperate need for low income housing, but the conversation was fairly short.  Earlier mentions of low income housing pertains to an area off Airport Road.  To be continued….we hope..
